This is the image of the painting created for the 100th Anniversary of the West Seattle Steel Mill owned by Nucor Steel. The image is a mural style combining current images with images from historical photographs. The background shows a stylized current Seattle skyline while the foreground shows current buildings and a section of the roof when it was under construction. The foreground also shows current work in the two corners with a historical group of early steel workers in the center. The painting hangs in the corporate offices at the West Seattle Mill. It was done in oils and is 42x52 in size. |
Here is a photo from the 2007 exhibit at Shoreline Arts Center. I was part of an exhibit titled "Expressions in Abstract." The painting at top right is mine as well as the three mirrors in the back.
